Plus, an innovative app to “Catch” up on your networking!
The TCNewTech panel of judges has selected the top three ideas to compete in their monthly pitch event for startups Tuesday, April 6 for the $500 prize provided by Pitch Prize Sponsor 4Front Credit Union. The selected startups will have five minutes to pitch to an online audience of investors, city and government stakeholders, local tech professionals, media, and fellow entrepreneurs.
Here is a rundown of the presenters selected:
First, Gavin Hubbard of Catch Software, LLC is returning after pitching Catch as a dating app at TCNewTech last October. Gavin and his team have redesigned their platform to meet the networking needs that many are missing while attending virtual events. The Catch platform is designed to make networking easier and more effective for virtual event attendees, allowing them to view, connect, and interact with those at the same virtual event. Through a familiar Instagram-style feed, users are able to scroll to find others at the same virtual event, then connect on LinkedIn and Instagram. There will be a live demo for anyone attending TCNewTech’s event between 6 – 7 PM on Tuesday, April 6th.

Bar Napkin PItch Ideas
After the three finalists have presented their ideas and answered questions from those viewing the live stream, the audience will be encouraged to cast their vote for the best pitch via an SMS text messaging poll. Meanwhile, three brave entrepreneurs will each have one minute to share their “Bar Napkin” idea. The sharing of the Bar Napkin ideas is always an audience favorite.
Through the support of their main sponsor, Michigan Broadband Services, TCNewTech will deliver a Virtual Pitch Night on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, broadcasting live to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. The format is similar to the TV show, Shark Tank except for the TCNewTech audience votes for the best project and the winner takes home a $500 cash prize. The audience is encouraged to register in advance on EventBrite.
Anyone with an entrepreneurial idea is encouraged to submit their ideas to TCNewTech. No idea is too big or too small – TCNewTech wants to hear all ideas!
