TCNewTech and Traverse Connect Call For Ideas

TCNewTech has joined forces with Traverse Connect to crowdsource innovative product ideas and creative solutions that address the current crisis surrounding COVID-19. The two organizations are pooling their networks and putting out a call for creative ideas for use of materials, reuse of existing products, or unique manufacturing that could be ramped up quickly to support first responders and medical professionals.

TCNewTech is an organization that brings together innovative ideas with investors during their monthly pitch contests typically held at the City Opera House in downtown Traverse City. Due to the changing COVID-19 situation, TCNewTech will deliver its first-ever Virtual Pitch Night on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, and include any new ideas brought forth by their joint call-to-action with Traverse Connect. The format is similar to the TV show, Shark Tank except its the audience that votes for the best project and the winner takes home a $500 cash prize.

“Our commitment to connecting innovative startups and emerging businesses with investors, mentors, and influencers has never been stronger or more important than it is in these challenging times,” said Jennifer Szunko, Executive Director of TCNewTech.

Anyone with an entrepreneurial idea that addresses the urgent logistical, supply chain, employment, and humanitarian challenges at hand is encouraged to submit their ideas to TCNewTech. These “bar napkin ideas” will be presented at the TCNewTech Virtual Pitch Night on April 7 providing the chance to secure a $500 prize and possible connections to propel viable ideas into existence. No idea is too big or too small – TCNewTech and Traverse Connect want to hear all ideas!
