The TCNewTech panel of judges has selected the top ideas they feel will be the strongest to compete on Tuesday, May 4th for the $500 prize provided by Pitch Prize Sponsor RJG, Inc of Traverse City. The three selected startups will have five minutes to present their emerging business to an online audience of investors, city and government stakeholders, local tech professionals, media, and fellow entrepreneurs in TCNewTech’s May event that will be broadcast online.
Here is a rundown of the presenters for Tuesday, May 4th:
1. Brad Basar of High Street Data, LLC: the first cloud-based platform to bring the proven power of insight communities to the Cannabis industry. Insight communities are utilized by 70% of the world’s mainstream brands such as Lego, DeWalt, and ADP to understand customers, tailor products, and grow sales. The HSD Insight Communities Platform will serve as a powerful solution to several Cannabis brand-building challenges. High Street Data, LLC is based in Elk Rapids, MI.
2. Karen Frame CEO and Co-Founder of Makeena: For natural products brands and consumers to discover each other, Makeena is the only B-certified loyalty platform that rewards consumers with incentives for buying “better,” while providing brands with real-time shopper insights and data for a fraction of the cost of other providers. While our app captures data from digital and physical receipts and other engagements, our proprietary dashboard provides brands with access to this data to drive repeat purchase behavior 63% of the time. Makeena is seeking their first round of investments so they can scale their business.
3. Brent Massey is CEO of Ridar Systems, LLC: Ridar Systems is a cloud-based mobile solution providing protection digitally for two-wheeled riders (Bicycles, motorcycles, scooters), through awareness technology that alerts vehicle drivers, preventing potential accidents from happening. Ridar Systems’ technology is smartphone-based, not reliant on vehicle technology. This technology alerts drivers to nearby cyclists, providing early awareness and visibility to driver driving accident prevention. Ridar Systems is seeking funding to continue their technical and business development activities that will continue their forward momentum.
TCNewTech will deliver a Virtual Pitch Night on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, broadcasting live to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. The format is similar to the TV show, Shark Tank except for the TCNewTech audience votes for the best project and the winner takes home a $500 cash prize. The audience is encouraged to register in advance on EventBrite.
