TCNewTech Pitch Contest September 2020

On Tuesday, September 1, Peter Forhan, Founder of Archimedes Innovations, was the audience favorite with the presentation of his startup called HALO (Handwashing with Antimicrobial Light) at the TCNewTech Pitch Event that was live-streamed to a global audience via YouTube and Facebook.  HALO safely disinfects over 99% of germs on your hands in seconds without water, chemicals, or waste; just light. Forhan and Archimedes Innovations has a mission to make its technology a public utility and is seeking seed funding for this new technology. The win earned Archimedes Innovations a $500 cash prize sponsored by Box Drop of Traverse City.

The event showcased a total of five emerging startups from a variety of markets including Wareologie, the creator of Buttons 2 Button Magnetic Adaptors; David O’Hagan of Esperovax, an oral vaccine platform; FixMyCar, a mobile car repair service presented by Prashant Salla; and Matthew Hall with his scientific breakthrough in indoor morel mushroom farming at Midnight Harvest. Each of the presenters gave equally compelling pitches in the hopes of landing their first round of funding. Their pitches can all be viewed on the TCNewTech  YouTube or Facebook channels.

TCNewTech brings together innovative ideas with investors during monthly pitch contests typically held at the City Opera House in downtown Traverse City but since April 2020 has been held online via the StreamYard streaming platform due to the pandemic.
