Ultra Secure Storage Platform Wins at TCNewTech Pitch Event
Peter & Sophie Lanc presented their startup Ionburst Cloud and won the TCNewTech Pitch Contest that was broadcast on the TCNewTech YouTube Channel and Facebook Page to a global audience on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. The team at Ionburst Cloud has developed technology that is already proving to be an industry leader in ultra-secure, ransomware-resilient data and information storage in Europe. The platform is built to securely store and retrieve any amount of data from anywhere and prevent unexpected leaks or unauthorized access. Presenter Peter Lanc heads up Business Development and is originally from Scotland but working to launch Ionburst Cloud in Michigan and presented from his Cadillac office, they are seeking $5 million for their first round of funding. Peter’s niece, Sophie Lanc is the Chief Creative Technology Officer and co-presented from Scotland.
Ionburst Cloud beat out two other entrepreneurs to take home the $500 cash prize, which was sponsored by 4Front Credit union. Pitches were given by Gavin Hubbard of Catch Software, LLC and Keelin H. Lundwall of Xperiences. Catch is an app designed to make networking easier and more effective for virtual event attendees, allowing them to view, connect, and interact with fellow attendees. The TCNewTech was able to demo the Catch app during the event and make new connections with others. Xperiences is an app and a platform that curates events and activities (like business meetups, education, entertainment, outdoor, kid-friendly, and more) that are occurring in a specific area. No more wondering what there is to do–just type, search and go. Although all presenters are at various stages of launch, the one thing they all share in common is the need for funding. The event was Live Streamed and can be viewed on YouTube and Facebook.
After the three finalists presented their ideas and answered questions from those viewing the live stream, the audience was able to cast their vote for the best pitch via an SMS text messaging poll. While waiting for the results two brave entrepreneurs had one minute each to share their “Bar Napkin” idea and one PowerPoint slide. Megan Mertaugh-Graber pitched her idea for a mobile mental health service called Care-O-Van and Angie Sanchez shared her idea for independent crafters to take orders for handcrafted items.
