RESTful APIs with Python – A Study Group (tccodes)

January 14 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EST

RESTful APIs are used by such sites as Amazon, Google, LinkedIn and Twitter. Join this study group to learn, use, and create RESTful APIs.

This is study group style of workshop with participants working along with Keith to learn the basics of RESTful webservices and the Python coding required to both access and create these cloud services. Participants must have a solid understanding of and ability to write code, preferably using VS Code and the Python language. Developers without Python experience will be required to complete additional learning activities prior to accessing the RESTful API content. Is this series of workshops a good fit for you? Contact Keith for further information and direction.

During this series, you use an online course provided by Udemy as a resource. You will complete specific sections of the online course on your own and then attend the monthly session to review and discuss. The study group sessions may extend beyond the three session, but the initial schedule will provide an opportunity to learn to:

  • Access resources in the Cloud using RESTful APIs
  • Use REST principles and HTTP verbs
  • Expose resource endpoints using Python Flask
  • Persist resources using SQL and Flask tools

This event is hosted by 20Fathoms as part of the tccodes talent development initiative. It is intended for intermediate to advanced software developers. For questions contact keith@20fathoms.org or visit tccodes.org.
