TCNewTech and Michigan’s Creative Coast Present North Coast Homecoming

Career Fair and Networking Event for Job Seekers

Michigan’s Creative Coast, Traverse Connect’s talent attraction initiative, and TCNewTech will present North Coast Homecoming, a networking event for job seekers, on Wednesday, November 24 at the Park Place Hotel & Conference Center between 4-7 p.m. Employer booths are available by reservation for $300. Details are available at traverseconnect.com/northcoasthomecoming.

“For the past several years, our pre-Thanksgiving event has been well attended and a fantastic tool for talent attraction and reconnecting friends that are home for the holiday. Last year’s pandemic left us with only a virtual option, so we are really looking forward to seeing everyone in person this year. Partnering with Traverse Connect and Michigan’s Creative Coast has helped us to expand our efforts and give job seekers the chance to explore what a move to Northwest Michigan could look like for them.”

Jennifer Szunko, executive director of TCNewTech

North Coast Homecoming is a free event for job-seeking residents of the Grand Traverse Region, as well as professionals who have made the trip home for the holidays and are considering relocating back to Traverse City or northern Michigan.

Attendees will learn about Traverse City’s business and entrepreneurial ecosystem and meet with some of the region’s fastest-growing companies, top local professional services companies, and non-profit organizations. Job seekers will meet with employers in a casual setting and explore where their career journey could lead in the Grand Traverse Region.

Camille Hoisington, director of strategic projects for Traverse Connect, added, “North Coast Homecoming is a great way for employers to connect with job seekers returning to the Traverse City area for the Thanksgiving holiday. Michigan’s Creative Coast’s flagship program, the Northern Navigators who serve as regional ambassadors, will also be at the event to connect attendees to networks and resources to help them make the move to the region.”

The event is free to attend. Hors d’oeuvres and each attendees’ first drink are complimentary, thanks to the Happy Hour Sponsor, 20Fathoms.

North Coast Homecoming is one of several “Back to Michigan” events being held across Michigan around the Thanksgiving holiday. Consumers Energy and Michigan Economic Development Corporation are the statewide sponsors for all Back to Michigan events.
